Chris was employed by the Department for Transport and its predecessors from 1970 -2017.
Served in several roles but ended up in HR, Set up a 50 + Group with the intention of ensuring older members of staff were recognised and not disadvantaged. Also, the Group assisted staff in preparing for retirement. Considering the problems he encountered on retirement joined courses to share experiences and alert those preparing for retirement of potential issues.
His outside interests are transport having written 3 books on ambulances, modelling buses, ambulances, fire engines and aircraft and producing dioramas to display these. He is also an amateur magician.
Chris was awarded an MBE in the 2018 Honours List.
