Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation
Appointment of a Governor to The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Crayford Academy Board
The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Vision is one where all students in the Federation are inspired to reach their full potential, regardless of ability or background, where aspirations and achievements are constantly raised through the highest quality academic, personal and vocational teaching and guidance, and where the students and staff of the Federation benefit from each other’s strengths.
The Federation currently has three academies made up of three secondary and five primary schools with circa 5,000 students (from aged 3 to 18 years) in South East London. It is named Haberdashers’ Aske’s after Robert Aske, the 17th century Haberdasher benefactor whose charitable benevolent fund is administered by the Haberdashers’ Company, a city livery company which has longstanding and wide-ranging interests in education including as an early and passionate academy sponsor.
The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Crayford Academy (HACA) educates children from Nursery to Sixth Form through the use of innovative, personalised learning and excellent, specialised teaching.
The ambition of the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation is to ensure that the young people in its care, now and in the future, have the best education possible. This is the focus of governing body business.
To achieve this HACA is seeking a Governor who:
- is excited by the vision and the ambition of HACA
- can make a strategic and effective contribution to the HACA Governing Body
- recognise, understand and support the context of the Federation’s commitment to State Education
- has demonstrable senior leadership experience of the state education state sector
